A knot lasts forever – at least the knots in Katherine Kwei’s new line of handbags. An emerging designer, Kwei’s line is set to debut in early 2007, but the buzz is already beginning. Her uniquely designed line is based on her childhood encounters with her grandmother, spending time folding wontons and knotting cords.

The Chinese “Eternity Knot” has been translated from those early experiences and incorporated into her beautiful, luxurious handbags. With exotic materials like water snake and pricked goat, Kwei makes a rapid leap into the luxury market. Her bags, like her knots, have eternal style. Below are three of my favorites:
The Zara Hobo, ($1,550)

The Zara Clutch, ($835)

The Zara Tote, ($1,675).
